Spectators will see a huge bonfire on the beach\, watch the effigy burn and enjoy a spectacular firework display. The event commemorates the Battle of Hastings and celebrates the traditional Gunpowder Plot of 1605. \n  \nBonfire Procession Route and Fireworks\nThe procession starts from the America Ground at the sea end of Robertson Street. It follows a route along the seafront to Marine Parade\, passes up All Saints Street\, goes down the High Street and then returns along the seafront to the bonfire site opposite Pelham Crescent. \n  \nFree Bonfire Night Event in Hastings\nThis is a free\, no-ticket event made possible by the hard work and determination of HBBS volunteers. Hastings Bonfire relies on volunteers and their fundraising efforts throughout the year. Don’t forget to bring your pennies for the collection buckets to help ensure the event continues in the future. \n  \nRoad Closures and Parking for Bonfire Night\nBonfire Night in Hastings is one of the busiest events of the year\, and parking can be very limited due to road closures and large crowds.
