October 18, 2025 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Hastings Borough Bonfire Society’s Torchlit Procession and Fireworks is on Saturday 18th October 2025.
Bonfire societies from all over Sussex come together to march through the streets of Hastings in a procession of drums, flares and flaming torchlights. Along with a huge bonfire on the beach, the burning of the effigy and a spectacular firework display, the event commemorates the Battle of Hastings, and of course the traditional gunpowder plot of 1605.
The procession sets off from the America Ground, at the sea end of Robertson Street and follows a route along the seafront to Marine Parade passing up All Saints Street and down the High Street. Before returning along the seafront to the bonfire site opposite Pelham Crescent.
This is a ‘no ticket’ event for the public put on by the hard work and determination of HBBS volunteers. The Hastings bonfire is only made possible by the volunteers and their fundraising efforts throughout the year. Don’t forget to bring your pennies for the buckets to make sure that the event can continue in the future.
This is an extremely popular event so please BOOK YOUR ACCOMMODATION EARLY to avoid disappointment.
