About
Rural Past Times Show is one of East Sussex’s most popular countryside events. Held annually at Monkings Farm in Horns Cross, near Hastings and Rye, the show celebrates traditional farming, vintage machinery and rural heritage with a full weekend of family-friendly entertainment.
Vintage Tractors, Steam Engines and Rural Heritage
Visitors can explore impressive displays of vintage tractors, steam engines, stationary engines and classic agricultural machinery. Heavy horses, working tractors and traditional demonstrations bring the history of rural Sussex to life. In addition, classic cars, military vehicles and commercial vehicles add even more variety across the showground.
Family Entertainment and Country Show Attractions
Rural Past Times offers far more than machinery displays. Families can enjoy tractor and trailer rides, live music, craft stalls, trade stands and traditional countryside activities throughout the weekend. Popular attractions often include dog shows, horticultural displays and rural crafts, creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere for visitors of all ages.
Supporting Local Charities and Community Projects
The organisers run the event on a non-profit basis and donate proceeds to local charities and community causes across East Sussex. As a result, the show continues to support local organisations while preserving traditional countryside heritage for future generations.
