About

England’s Medieval Festival returns to The King’s Grove at Pippingford Park, East Sussex, from 29–31 August 2026 for the August Bank Holiday weekend. Established in 1993, the festival is one of the UK’s longest-running medieval and Renaissance living history events, bringing jousting, battles, living history, music, markets and family entertainment together in an immersive woodland setting.

Jousting, Battles and Living History

Knights in armour take to the arena for jousting, combat displays and medieval battles, while living history encampments recreate aspects of medieval life. Visitors can also see archery, falconry, demonstrations and traditional crafts throughout the festival.

Medieval Markets and Entertainment

The festival has medieval, fantasy and artisan markets alongside craftsmen, traders and hands-on workshops. Music, wandering performers, storytelling and street entertainment add to the atmosphere, while Kid’s Kingdom provides activities for younger visitors.

Food, Feasting and Festival Atmosphere

Food stalls, taverns and refreshments are available across the site, with options ranging from festival favourites to traditional-style feasting. Visitors can also book a separate Medieval Banquet, featuring a four-course medieval-inspired meal and evening entertainment.

Camping and Weekend Stays

Visitors can make a full weekend of the festival with camping, glamping and live-in vehicle accommodation at Pippingford Park. Weekend ticket holders can also enjoy evening entertainment, including music, performances and a flame-lit procession.

Visiting from Hastings

Pippingford Park is around 1 hour by car from Hastings, making England’s Medieval Festival an easy day trip from the Sussex coast. Apollo Guest House provides a convenient base for visiting the festival and exploring other East Sussex attractions during your stay.
