The Famous May Day Motorbike Run to Hastings is an annual event full of tradition and adrenaline. Held on the first Monday of May, it draws motorbike enthusiasts from across the United Kingdom and beyond. Riders celebrate the open road, the camaraderie of the biking community and the enduring spirit of freedom.
Dating back to the mid-1970s, the May Day Run began as a small gathering of local bikers. It has since grown into a massive spectacle, with thousands of participants revving their engines in anticipation. The scenic route from London to Hastings spans about 60 miles and winds through some of England’s most beautiful countryside.
When riders reach Hastings, the seafront fills with thousands of motorcycles. The entire promenade becomes an open‑air showcase of bikes, from vintage classics to modern machines.
