The Hastings Musical Festival, established in 1908, is one of the UK’s longest-running performing arts festivals. In 2027, it returns to the White Rock Theatre in Hastings, East Sussex, running from 22 February to 20 March 2027.
Music, Dance and Performing Arts
The festival brings together performers of all ages across singing, instrumental music, dance, speech, drama and mime. Classes are judged by specialist adjudicators, with performers receiving constructive feedback on their technique, interpretation and presentation.
The festival presents awards and medals across many classes, with championships, special awards and concerts forming part of the wider festival programme.
Performances at the White Rock Theatre
The White Rock Theatre hosts performances during the Hastings Musical Festival. Competitors have the opportunity to perform on stage in front of an audience. With classes taking place throughout the festival, performers and their families travel to Hastings from across the region to take part.
