Hastings Beer and Music Festival began in 1981. It is an annual three-day event organised by Hastings Round Table. In 2017, the HBMF committee decided the festival had outgrown its home in Alexandra Park. After 35 years, it moved to a new venue at The Oval on Bohemia Road in Hastings.
It is the biggest social event in the area. The Oval offers stunning sea views from its elevated position. The festival is entirely staffed by volunteers. Every penny raised (over £1 million to date) goes to local good causes.
The festival celebrates the very best of local beer, food and music. Over the course of a three-day weekend, it attracts visitors from across the region. For example, guests can sample a wide variety of locally brewed beers, ciders and wines. In addition, numerous food stalls serve a range of tasty treats to suit all tastes. Live music from local bands and artists provides entertainment throughout the day and into the night.
