Hastings Oktoberfest 

Hastings Oktoberfest stands out as one of the South Coast’s most exciting autumn events. It brings the spirit of Bavaria to East Sussex through a lively mix of beer, music and culture. Each year, the Phoenix Arts Centre transforms into a Munich-style bier hall filled with long benches, flowing steins and a buzzing crowd.

Visitors enjoy a true Oktoberfest experience with German beers, wines and spirits. In addition, street food traders serve bratwurst and other festival favourites. Live oompah music from resident band DDFK keeps the energy high, while hosts lead interactive games and entertainment throughout the sessions.

Since 2016, the festival has grown into a key date in the local events calendar. As a result, it now attracts visitors from across Sussex and beyond. Guests often wear lederhosen and dirndls, which adds to the immersive atmosphere. Prizes also reward the best dressed, encouraging everyone to join in.

Both daytime and evening sessions give flexibility, while the over-18s setting creates a vibrant social scene. The festival offers a great way to enjoy live music, meet friends and experience a traditional German-style beer festival in East Sussex.
